Business Partner Gold Award” from Toyota
Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc.
May 1, 2002—Safety Today, Inc. of Lexington, Kentucky, has been honored by Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc., (TMMK) with the distinguished “TMMK 2001 Outstanding Business Partner Gold Award” at its Annual Purchasing Policy Meeting and Awards Ceremony in Lexington. Safety Today received one of three top category Gold Awards.
To be eligible for Outstanding Business Partner Awards, TMMK suppliers must meet the highest level of expectations in the areas of safety, cost-containment, quality, delivery and management support. Safety Today achieved perfect scores in the areas of delivery, on-site operational management and safety, which means that they help ensure that TMMK safety policies are followed.
The Georgetown, Kentucky-based TMMK, Toyota's largest production plant in North America, presented awards to six suppliers out of a field of 69 in Kentucky alone. Toyota is served by hundreds of suppliers in the continental United States. Safety Today has supplied TMMK with gloves and other important safety supplies for 15 years. Ted Cowie, Chief Operating Officer, Safety Today, Inc., Columbus, Ohio; Andrew Mitchell, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Safety Today’s Protective Products Group; and James Gullett, Regional Sales Specialist, Safety Today Inc., Lexington, Kentucky, accepted the award from Gary Convis, president of TMMK, and three TMMK senior managers.
